Where have I been?

I just noticed this morning that is has been nearly three weeks since my last blog post, so I thought it deserved a little attention.

Life has been pretty hectic since we moved.  My office is still strewn with packing boxes and our clothes are still in suitcases?  But we are getting there.

I have been shooting like crazy, beautiful family after beautiful family.  Love Your Camera beginner workshops are still going strong and keeping me on the move (Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne coming up).  And, my labour of love of the last few months has been the production of Love Your Camera II.  The perfect follow-on for anyone that has attended Love Your Camera (or anyone comfortable shooting in manual mode), and who wishes to learn more, practice more and be challenged.  This is an online workshop that runs for 4 weeks.  The first one is full and starts in just 6 sleeps!  Round two starts in August, so pop on over to the Love Your Camera site and see what you think.

And on the home front, the kids have had school holidays and about a million sleepovers.  Every day we either gained a child, or lost a child.  The trundle was moved from room to room, noise levels were out of control and lots of baking was done with mum.  Since Dave and I swapped roles, I haven’t cooked as much as I used too.  And I used to cook a lot — nothing too fancy, just healthy and yummy vegetarian fare.  Over the holidays I noticed just how much processed food we were eating inadvertently, so made the conscious decision to make most things from scratch as I used to — well, I’ll try anyway.

My sister-in-law put me on to a fantastic website that I have been devouring – 101 Cookbooks.  Written by Heidi Swanson, it shares all her natural vegetarian food ideas.  Last night I made the Roast Sweet Potato Falafels.  So good, and the kids took them to school in their lunchboxes today.  Tonight is quinoa with grilled zucchini, eggs and goats cheese.

Well, that’s about me in a nutshell this morning.  I will leave you with these divine sisters. x

Breakfast and Family Photography

The kids have just left for school and I am sitting in my office writing this post eating one of my favourite breakfasts — a poached egg on grainy toast with lots of pepper.  There is also a piping hot coffee in my favourite mug (that was purchased at a market stall in Prague in 2000).  I need my coffee extra, extra hot — so I drink it really quickly before it cools.  Other favourite breakfasts include fresh ricotta, tomato and rocket on the same grainy toast; chilli mexican beans with a poached egg; baked beans on that grainy toast; and most cereals. :)

Anyhoo, being a photo blog and not a foodie blog, here are some pics of a wee scrumper and her folks.  x
